Innovative Practices in Education around the World: What can be Learned?

The ITIF report ranks India 35 out of 51 countries among the top-ranking universities in a country. India has only 17 universities, amongst the world’s top 800 universities which is much less as compared with China. When it comes to global innovation index, India is ranked at 52nd position out of 129 economics. On the other hand China is rank at 15th position. In an environment of global competitiveness innovation in education is a tool to gain competitive edge around the world. The present paper seeks to highlight the importance of innovation in education as a basic stimulator for the economic development of a country. Further in this paper, we also look at the best innovative practices in education among different countries. This paper will give policy recommendation both at the micro and macro level so as to push innovation in education which is the Centre stage of policy of MHRD.
