Post Stack Deghosting, Demultiple and Pre Stack Coherent Noise Attenuation

P108 POST STACK DEGHOSTING DEMULTIPLE AND PRE STACK COHERENT NOISE ATTENUATION Introduction 1 We show how the removal of the receiver Ghost by means of the CrossGhosting technique applied in the Poststack domain on multicomponent O.B.C. data can significantly improve the quality of the P-wave stack image specially if applied after the attenuation of coherent noise in the vertical geophone component. Such PZ summation method (R.Soubaras 1996) implements a spectral calibration of Z-data to match P-data and compensates the impulse response difference between geophones and hydrophones. Other methods Water-Bottom Calibration (Dragoset and Barr 1994) or Backus (Paffenholz and Barr 1995)
