Synthesis and crystal structure of a new phenoxy oxygen bridged binuclear cadmium(II) polyaza cryptate

Abstract A new tris(phenoxy oxygen) bridged bicadmium(I1) polyaza cryptate has been synthesized by [2 + 31] Schiff-base condensation of tris(3-aminopropyl)amine with sodium 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenolate in the presence of Cd(Cl0 4 ) 2 · 6H 2 0. The crystal structure, characterization of spectra and molar conductivity shows that two cadmium(II) atoms were bridged by three phenoxy oxygen atoms. Each cadmium(II) located in a seven coordination environment (N 4 0 3 ). The coordination geometry around the Cd II is a capped distorted octahedron
