Creep and durability of boron-silicide coated molybdenum in vacuo at 1000 to 1400$sup 0$C

1973
Results are presented of tests on creep and long-stability of smooth and notched samples of molybdenum with a borosilicide coating, in vacuo, at temperatures of 1000 to 1400 deg C. It was established that, under the conditions used, the strength of smooth samples with a coating was higher than that of the basic material. In tests of the smooth samples the coatings showed no effect on the properties of the basic material, and in tests of notched samples the plasticity was affected. The coating did not affect the manner of long-term destruction of the basic material. (tr-auth)
