Method and device for receiving signal in multi-path environment

PURPOSE: To provide communications in a multi-path environment. CONSTITUTION: A signal from a multiple signal path is received by using a multi-element antenna 20 and a beam generation network 36. Signals from respective antenna elements are sampled to generate sample vectors. Several sample vectors are used for generating an auto-covariance matrix. A singular value decomposition of the anto-covariane matrix is used for generating three matrices. The 1st matrix is used for checking the number of signal paths and the 2nd matrix is used for generating several polynomials. Polynomial roots existing on or near the unit circle are used for determining points on the unit circle related to each signal path. Respective points on the unit circle are used for calculating the weighted values of the circuit 36 for generating the receiving beams of respective signal paths.
