Method and device for coating object rotating about axis

1994
PURPOSE: To make it possible to economically form a flawless coating by synchronizing the rate of reaction and relative movement of a reaction mixture with the circumferential speed of a rotating object, successively superposing and connecting the convolutions thereof to a seamless form and allowing the reaction mixture to flow out onto the object from a sheet die. CONSTITUTION: A pipe 1 is mounted to a rotating device and a mixing head 2 having a sheet die 3 at its longitudinal axis is so arranged as to be made freely displaceably in a longitudinal direction. The pipe 1 is rotated and simultaneously the pipe 1 is moved in a direction parallel to the axis. In the movement and rotation of the pipe 1, a polyurethane reaction mixture is ejected via a die 3 so as to be applied in the spiral convolutions. The reaction mixture is ejected to the die 3 arranged at the prescribed angle in parallel to the axis of rotation, by which the rate of reaction and relative movement of the mixture are synchronized with the circumferential speed of the pipe 1 to successively superpose the convolutions on each other like flakes and to connect the same to the seamless form. Further, the mixture is made to flow out onto the pipe 1 from the die 3.
