Research in Hyperbaric Medicine

2006
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a relatively recent development in the field of human medicine, and is in many aspects “unproven”, because based on animal and laboratory evidence. An overview is given of the recent developments in research effort, made by the European hyperbaric “community” to work towards this final goal: to stand the test of Evidence-Based Medicine. It appears that financial and human resources are lacking, but also that more attention should be paid to the formal scientific teaching and training of hyperbaric staff
