CO2 laser welding with plasma utilization

We have developed a new method of the laser welding which increases welding efficiency and improves the quality and shape of welded joints.The main feature of the method is that plasma, which is generated by the interaction between the laser beam, the metal vapor and the laser assist gas, is pushed into the key-hole with a plasma control gas and utilized effectively rather than removed as in the conventional methods.This newly developed laser welding method is quite suitable for the coil build-up welding in continuous coil processing in the steel industry.
