Total emissivities of refractories in vacuum

The emissivities of various refractories in a vacuum of 0.133 Pa at temperaturea of 800 to 1800 K were measured radiometrically. Silica-based materials had the highest, and corundum the lowest emissivity. Addition of 40 percent graphite improved the emissivity of dolomite by 30 percent
