The activity of N-acetylglucosamine kinase from human gastric mucosa

Abstract In our previous paper (1) some hexosamine intermediary factors taking part in the biosynthesis of mucin have been described. However, it was not established whether N -acetylglucosamine was the mucin biosynthesis metabolite or the degradation product of macromolecular compounds. The present work deals with the activity of N -acetylglucosamine kinase of the human gastric mucosa.
