Arthroscopic management of tibial plateau fractures

2006
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of arthroscopic reduction and percutaneous fixation for the treatment of tibial plateau fractures. Methods Eleven cases of tibial plateau fractures were reviewed. The fractured tibial plateau was reconstructed by"drag-and-draw"reduction under arthroscope. And percutaneous cancellous bone screw fixation was conducted. Results Clinical bone union was achieved in all the patients, and no infection or severe osteoarthritis occurred. The knee function recovers well. Conclusions Arthroscopic managenent of tibial plateau fractures has the advantages of little injury, safe operation, accurate reduction and reliable fixation under direct view, and management of associated intraarticular pathology. It is beneficial for early activities recovery.
