The present invention relates to a method for the automated detection of an activity of drugs in a solution, wherein at least one sample storage container (2) automatically to a surface (3) in a recess (9), a motor protein (1) and to the motor protein (1) in to the respective motor protein (1) corresponding filament (4) of a cytoskeleton is applied or on the surface (3) of the recess (9) of the sample storage container (2), the filament (4) of the cytoskeleton and to the filament (4) of the cytoskeleton the to the filament (4) of the cytoskeleton corresponding motor protein (1) are applied. The filament (4) of the cytoskeleton and / or the motor protein (1) is labeled with a fluorescent dye (5) and the active substance to be examined and an enzyme for improving the fluorescence properties are added to the solution. Moreover, adenosine triphosphate is detected by optically detecting the fluorescent dye (5) to trigger a movement of the motor protein (1) and the attached thereto filament (4) of the cytoskeleton added and caused by the motor protein (1) movement of the filament (4) of the cytoskeleton.
