Serum α-6-l-fucosyltransferase is released from platelets during clotting of blood

Activity of serum α-6-l-fucosyltransferase is strictly correlated with the original concentration of blood platelets. The plasma enzyme activity is confined to intact platelets and appears in serum during the course of coagulation of blood. Activity of serum α-3-l-fucosyltransferase does not depend on platelets.
