Flow Cytometric Assessment of Gentamicin Nephrotoxicity in Established Renal Cell Lines
1993
The clinical use of gentamicin is limited by its dose-dependent nephrotoxicity. The renal pathogenesis of gentamicin can be attributed to its selective accumulation within the renal proximal tubular cells. Among the clinical signs of gentamicin nephrotoxicity are the renal wasting of calcium and magnesium, low molecular weight proteinuria and enzymuria.
