Механизмы образования скоплений и функционирования планктона в экосистемах Индийского океана : монография

The results of complex research cruises in to the subequatorial dynamic areas of the Indian Ocean are generalized in the monograph. Hydrological and hydrochemical conditions as indexes of dynamic structure of waters are described. Relation of distribution of organic suspended matter, phytoplankton, chlorophyll, primary production, micro- and mesozooplankton with a structure and dynamics of waters is shown. Principal reasons and mechanisms of forming of patchiness in distribution of plankton, characteristic properties of patches are exposed and the theoretical analysis of regularities of their forming is carried out. The features of feeding, respiration and balance of matter and energy at the mass species of zooplankton depending on nature of its distribution, patchiness and structure of waters are discussed, estimation of rates of functional processes are given.
