[The head-body index used to access femoral head size].

2003
: Basing on an analysis of 260 X-rays of healthy hip joints in children and adults the authors present a head-body index (according to Kruczynski), used to assess femoral head size. The index is defined as the ratio of the circumference of circle drawn around the femoral head to the body width of the femur (measured below the minor trochanter). In patients less than 17 years old the index was 170 (SD-14.6).
