Hmg-coa reductase inhibitor combination formulation

PURPOSE: A complex formulation containing niacin and HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor is provided to enhance elution of the inhibitor and maintain the elution of niacin so treat hyperlipidemia or atherosclerosis for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A complex formulation for treating hyperlipidemia or atherosclerosis contains niacin control releasing formulation having niacin, carboxyvinylpolymer and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. The carboxyvinylpolymer and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose are contained in a weight ratio of 1:1~1:100. The complex formulation further comprises antioxidant. The antioxidant is vitamin C, vitamin E, tocopherol, zingerone, capsaicin, gallic acid or citric acid.
