Target tracking system and method

A method using image equipment to track a target object is characterized in that the image equipment is carried on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and the method includes processing an image including the target object by virtue of a processor, wherein the processing includes utilizing at least one of an image recognition algorithm or an image matching algorithm between the image including the target object and an image of the target object; recognizing the target object in the image including the target object; detecting deviation of the target object in a second image captured by the imageequipment compared with the image including the target object; and based on the deviation, adjusting at least one of the UAV, image equipment and a carrier, so as to reduce the detected deviation andenable the target object to be basically maintained in a field of view of the image equipment.
