Reorganização do trabalho de Agentes Comunitários de Saúde no interior do Amazonas frente à COVID-19

Objective: describe the reorganization and work of Community Health Agents (CHA) in the municipality of Coari, Amazonas. Method: descriptive and reflective study, based on information available on official portals of municipal and state agencies. Results: 35 (15,7%) of the CHA in Coari were dismissed because they were at risk. New actions were incorporated to face the pandemic and challenges arising from geographic barriers, telephone access, housing characteristics, high prevalence of common diseases and lack of professionals in the rural area. Conclusion: CHA are strategic agents in the fight against COVID-19, in the organization of the service and continuity of care.
