Effects of Kuntai capsule on ovarian function and perimenopause symptoms of women with hysterectomy

2013
Objective To study the effects of Kuntai Capsule on ovarian function perimenopausal symptoms of women with hysterectomy. Methods 142 cases who suffered from benign diseases with hysterectomy were randomly divided into two groups: Kuntai capsule group and estrogen group. Results There were significant difference between the 2 groups about the levels of E 2, FSH and LH(F E2 =8.217, P E2 =0.000. F FSH =6.727, P FSH =0.000. F LH =5.964, P LH =0.000). While the levels of FSH, LH in Kuntai capsule group were higher than those in estrogen group, the difference were signifi cant. The level of E 2 in Kuntai capsule group was higher than that of the estrogen group after 3 months therapy(t= 3.149, P=0.004), while there was no significant difference after 6 months therapy(t=0.892, P=0.611). The levels of E 2, FSH and LH were different between the 2 groups in different therapy times(F E2 =7.538, P E2 =0.000. F FSH =4.558, P FSH =0.007. F LH =12.148, P LH =0.000). The level of E 2 was increased but FSH and LH were decreased. There was no signifi cant difference of ovarian volume between the 2 groups(F=0.018, P=0.895), and the difference of ovarian volume in different therapy times was not signifi cant(F=0.112, P=0.798). The total effective rate of improving perimenopausal symptoms had no signifi cant difference between the 2 groups. The incidence rate of breast distending pain and colporrhagia of Kuntai capsule group were lower than that of estrogen group but the difference was not significant. Conclusion Kuntai Capsule has obvious effects on the treatment of patients with hysterectomy, and it gives a new choice in treating patients with perimenopausal symptoms.
