Navigation device and display method for same

In the field of navigation devices, there is conventional technology relating to a navigation device operating in a two screen display mode in which a wide area map and a detail map are displayed. In the navigation device described above, however, in order to check information showing the operational states of peripheral devices such as an in-vehicle audio device and other devices, the information has to be displayed on a different screen and cannot be displayed on the same screen. An object of the invention is to provide, in a navigation device, technology for displaying map information and information showing the operational states of peripheral devices on the same screen. According to a navigation device of the invention, the screen display region of a display device is divided into a plurality of display regions and information showing the obtained operational states of peripheral devices is displayed on each of the divided display regions.
