Overall pain management and iatrogenic conditions

In addition to providing treatment and relief for many chronic pain patients, the creation of pain management centres helped to prevent certain iatrogenic conditions, notably by avoiding unnecessary medical action. Several decades later, the same pain management centres are still fulfilling their missions successfully, but they in turn are generating iatrogenic conditions. This article attempts to explain this development, by analyzing several factors.
