Capsule-like Co3O4 nanocage@Co3O4 nanoframework/TiO2 nodes as anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Abstract Co 3 O 4 nanoparticles-assembled 3-dimension mesoporous nanoframework with TiO 2 spheres as framework nodes was successfully synthesized in Co 3 O 4 nanocage, forming a unique nanocapsule with large specific surface area and abundant mesopores. As anode material for lithium ion batteries, the nanocapsules exhibited high specific capacity (1409 mAh g −1 at 200 mA g −1 at the 19th cycle), good cycling performance and rate capability. The superior lithium storage performance was attributed to the unique capsule structure. It increased electrochemical activity and stability of Co 3 O 4 .
