Conditions for obtaining road asphalts from deasphaltization asphalts

1. It has been established that with increasing depth of removal of oil fractions from the crude, oxidation of the latter takes longer and the air consumption increases; the bitumens obtained have lower plasticities and higher brittleness temperatures than those obtained from tars by the same method. 2. High oxidation of asphalt crude, followed by dilution with selective-purification extracts, enables us to obtain from deasphaltization asphalts, tars of tarry sulfur Eastern oil and of low-tar, low-sulfur Eastern oil (including asphalts of the 2nd deasphaltization stage) viscous bitumens with far superior properties to those of commercial bitumens from tars.
