Perspectivas da pesquisa e gestão dos bancos de sementes comunitários, Paraíba – Síntese do Seminário do Pólo da Borborema

This report presents the experience of farmers in research related to the conservation andmanagement of native seeds, called Sementes da Paixao in the Polo Sindical da Borborema,Paraiba. From the organization of guardians and guardians in community seed banksand the development of participatory researches that seek to solve the demands pointed outby peasants, the Paraiba Seeds Network has strengthened the conservation and the use ofthese seeds, providing moments of learning among peasants, technicians, researchers andstudents. In this sense, this paper aims to present a synthesis of the Seminar on Research andManagement of Community Seed Banks of Borborema, describing the research developed onthe theme throughout 2016 and the challenges regarding the management of seed banks andresearch with the native seeds at the Polo Borborema.
