Due to the expansion and densification of urban networks, vegetation and other natural components end up becoming the most vulnerable elements of the urban landscape. The permanence of these components require not only that their existence must be provided for in urban planning, but also that the legal framework which gives them legal protection should be effective. This study aims to evaluate the applicability of legal rules in protecting urban forest fragments (UFFs) in Manaus, analyzing the environmental and urban legal instruments from the three levels of government.
