The Features of Structure Formation of TiNi Sintered Intermetallic Compound

2015
The work investigates the structure of calcium hydride TiNi powdered intermetallic compound. Using X-ray structural and metallographic analysis, it is established that the initial powder contains the B2 and B19′ phases. After consolidation, the martensite structure is changed completely. Scanning electron microscopy has established that the compacted material contains the Ti2Ni and Ti2N phases. It is assumed that such evolution of the structure is due to increased content of nitrogen adsorbed by the powder surface and decomposition of metastable compounds.
