Herpes gestations is described as a polymorphous pruritic bulbous disorder resembling dermatitis. It can occur during pregnancy or puerperium. Its etiology is unknown but it has a tendency to reoccur during subsequent pregnancies or with the use of contraceptive pills. Women having had the ailment therefore should usually not use contraceptive pills.
