스마트 건강 도시를 위한 싱가포르의 전략

2021
Singapore implemented the National Health Plan in 1983 to reform the health care system by introducing social security. As a result, medical expenses compared to GDP recorded 4.4%, significantly lower than the global average (8.8%) as of 2018. In addition, the Healthcare Efficiency Index, which is calculated in consideration of each country’s life expectancy and medical expenses, ranked second after Hong Kong in 2018. Thus, research on Singapore’s health care system has been very active worldwide. However, now Singapore is also accelerating its fundamental improvement, not just a health and medical system, as it faces a combination of problems with sustainable environments such as rapid aging, low birth rates and urban saturation. Therefore, this study aims to derive implications by analyzing the national-level strategies Singapore has built for smart health cities.
