The paper tries to expand Schneider idea identifying the same definition and structure of Kinship, Nationality and Religion in American Society. He says that symbols of American kinship system give a kind of solidarity among kin, similar to the symbols of a nation among citizens. The expansion points to the modern definition of a nation, and to the definition of Catalan nationality, which was constructed by the catalanits at the end of 19 th .
