Molecular structure of epoxide oligomers

1988
Abstract High-performance liquid chromatography was USAed to characterize oligomeric diane based epoxides with molar mass between 600 and 4 × 10 3 , containing varioUSA end groups Peaks corresponding to different oligomers were identified up to the degree of polycondensation. Kinetics of reactions of individual oligomers during synthesis of the epoxide resin by the method of two-stage addition of alkali was elucidated. Chlorohydrin ethers are formed during the first stage by the addition of one or two epichlorohydrin molecules to bisphenol-A, whereas the second stage involves their dehydrochlorination to the final product. Branched oligomers are formed only in the region of large conversions.
