Convenient access to new mono- and dinuclear organometallic hydrazones from [(η5-Cp)Fe(η6-arylhydrazine)]+

Abstract New mononuclear and dinuclear organometallic hydrazones [(η 5 -Cp)Fe(η 6 -R-C 6 H 4 NHNCR′R′′)] + PF 6 − , were synthesised by reacting the corresponding organometallic hydrazines [(η 5 -Cp)Fe(η 6 -R-C 6 H 4 NHNH 2 )] + PF 6 − , with acetone, R=H, 2-Cl, 4-Me, 4-MeO; R′=R′′=Me, and formylferrocene, R=H, 4-Me; R′=H; R′′=(η 5 -C 5 H 4 )FeCp, respectively.
