The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between resilience and job satisfaction for administrators of state schools for special education (director and vice director). The sample consisted of 137 directors and vice directors(32 female and 105 male) working at 53 state schools for special education in Istanbul listed on the General Directorate of Special Education and Counseling Services website in 2012-2013 school year. The data was collected by “Demographic Information Form”, “Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire” and “Resilience Questionnaire for Adults”. SPSS for windows 15.0 statistics program was used to analyze the data. Independent samples t test and One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to investigate whether resilience and/or job satisfaction change as a function of gender, marital status, seniority, school type etc. The results showed that total resilience scores of administrators of schools for special education does not change as a function of gender, age, marital status, major of graduation and workplace. However, the administrators‟ job satisfaction level changes as a function of gender, major of graduation and seniority. The administrators‟ job satisfaction level does not affect their resilience. Other findings of present study were discussed based on the previous literature and some suggestions were presented for future studies.
