Forming apparatus in situ hydrogels.

1999
Apparatus for forming in situ, in a tissue cavity, an adherent coating to the tissue from at least first and second solutions, the apparatus comprising: first and second chambers (13, 14) for storing the first and second solutions; a first nozzle (20a; 78; 98) in fluid communication with the first chamber and adapted to permit the first solution to flow from the first nozzle; a second nozzle (20b; 80; 100) in fluid communication with the second chamber and adapted to allow the second solution to flow from the second nozzle; a first output gas flow (21a; 82; 102), the first outlet gas flow being arranged around the first nozzle and the second nozzle, and a source (17; 75; 95) of pressurized gas coupled to the first gas flow outlet, wherein the pressurized gas exiting the first outlet gas flow atomizes and mixes the first solution with the second solution.
