Risk factors for noncompliance to immunosuppressive medications in renal transplant recipients

2003
NONCOMPLIANCE TO IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE MEDICATIONS is common among renal transplant recipients (RTxR). It has been reported to be the third leading cause of renal allograft loss, after rejection and systemic infection. The reported incidence of noncompliance in RTxR varies from less than 5% to more than 50% depending on the methods of measurement definition of noncompliance, and characteristics of the patient population. The purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence and risk factors of noncompliance among our renal transplant (RT) patients.
