Effect of cut angles at trailing edge on the performance of a lobed mixer

2009
The principle of effect of different cut angles at trailing edge of a practical lobed mixer on the thermal efficiency and the total-pressure recovery coefficient was studied by 3D-CFD(computational fluid dynamics)numerical simulation. The results show that, when the angles cut at trailing edge of the lobed mixer vary from 2.5° to 15°,the thermal efficiency augments and the total-pressure recovery coefficient decline as the angle increases, and when the cut angles vary from 15° to 60°,the thermal efficiency declines and the total-pressure recovery coefficient augments as the angle increases.
