Children with special health needs (SHNC) are a special group of patients suffering from various systemic disorders: physical, developmental, mental, sensory, behavioral, cognitive, and emotional, which limit their function and necessitate medical control, medical intervention and/or use of special services and programs.The purpose of this review is to address the epidemiology of children with disabilities, thereby outlining basic guidelines for their prevention.
