USO DE BIOADITIVO NA REDUÇÃO DE ÓLEOS E GRAXAS EM EFLUENTE DE CAIXA DE GORDURA

The high content of oils and greases inserted without previous treatment in the effluent and water treatment plants may causes serious damage to the treatment processes and the environment. The installation and functionality of a fat box is very important to reduce and even remedy this problem. Sereral homes and especially food establishments fail to properly maintain their fat boxes, lack of maintenance causes problems such as bad odors and the reputation of the establishment is questioned. To help and contribute to the proper functioning of a fat box one can count on the help of microorganisms mainly bacteria, the bio additive. It is considered a biotechnology capable of assisting in biological pretreatment, if inserted in a controlled manner they are capable of degrading organic matter and thus preventing high levels of oils and greases from reaching treatment plants and water bodies. This work aimed to verify the efficiency and degradation capacity of oils and greases present in the fat box of a restaurant located in the center of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz- SC. The effluent is composed of high organic content that served as substrate for microorganisms to develop their enzymatic activities. The experiments were carried out in laboratory in bench tests, where the microorganisms were subjected to temperature variation (between 10 and 29 ° C), time (between 48 and 96 hours) and bioadditive concentration (between 0.83 and 6.66 g / l). The best results obtained during the experiments were when the microorganisms were subjected to a higher temperature range (between 26 oC and 29 °C), at a reaction time of 96 hours and using a concentration of 1.73 g / L of bioadditive, under these conditions, 94.6% degradation of oils and greases was observed in relation to the raw effluent. The bioadditive tested was able to act at high and low temperatures and could be inserted in the fat boxes in order to help in the pretreatment. Keywords: Restaurant. Fat box. Oils and Greases.
