This training manual aims to provide resource materials and teaching methods that would be useful to trainers who are teaching management skills to women. The first part of the manual is devoted to gender issues. It is suggested that awareness of critical gender issues would make it easier for women to enhance their assertiveness sense of direction and willingness to take control of their own lives. This manual relies on inexpensive training aids or materials available locally and on human resources such as local business persons. Training is focused on awareness of gender issues achievement of motivation and starting and operating a business. Each section has an initial set of briefing notes that should be read prior to operation of the training regime. Prior understanding of concepts is expected to allow for translation of the manuals concepts into the trainers own words. Many instructions are really guidelines for adapting concepts into the local situation. Training is based on the Experiential Learning Model or the Structural Learning Experience.
