The Application of in Vivo Optical Imaging for TGF-.BETA.1 Regulation of Breast Cancer Metastasis

2011
Since in vivo optical imaging has many advantages, such as non-invasive,in vivo, dynamic, continuous, specific imaging, etc,it is now widely used in tracing of the movement of cells or real-time monitoring of specific gene expression in the whole body.TGF-β1 signaling pathway has been reported to play a very important role in the process of breast cancer developing, including its occurrence, expanding and metastasis. In this review, the authors presented the application of in vivo optical imaging technique on the regulation of TGF-β1 signaling pathway in breast cancer metastasis. The relevance of TGF-β1 signaling pathway and breast cancer metastasis in vivo were also discussed. Finally, the authors summarized the prevention effects of flavonoids, such as naringenin,on the metastasis of breast cancer. Therefore, this review will provide some theoretical guidance for the screening of new anti-breast cancer metastasis drugs, thus promote the application of molecular imaging technique in continuous observation of the dynamic effects of drug therapy in vivo.
