Perception and adoption of soil testing of the farmers with respect their socio-economic character: A study in Cooch Behar District

Soil testing is essential part of every farmer.Different government organisation took initiative toaware the farmer about soil testing. Farmers wereperceived and Adopting soil test. But still a problemwas found by Cooch Behar Krishi Vigyan Kendra thatfarmer adoption and perception of soil testing werenot homogeneous. So a study was conducted atGopalpur village in Coochbehar district, West Bengalto know the farmer perception and adoption of soiltesting with their socio-economic variable. The datawere collected during February, 2016. The researchdesign was followed in the study was surveyresearch method. The sample size of the study was100.The dependent variables of this study wereperception and adoption and independent variableswere age, gender, number of family member, caste,land holding, education and annual income. Thedescriptive statistics like frequency, percentage,range were used for the investigation. This study hadshown the relation of the perception and adoptionof soil testing with the different independentvariable.
