The Endocrinology of Stimulated Cycles and Influence on Outcome

1990
It is well established that the chances of pregnancy after carrying out assisted conception techniques (IVF; GIFT) are increased by adopting a superovulation strategy. A variety of superovulation regimens have been employed to promote the synchronous development of several preovulatory follicles which will yield a number of mature eggs. Further it has been clearly demonstrated that after IVF or GIFT, the incidence of implantation rises with an increase in the number of embryos or oocytes replaced.1,2,3,4
