New Asymmetric β-Cyclodextrin Derivatives Designed for Chiral Recognition

1999
In the continuing challenge of increasing the performances of cyclodextrins (CDs) for various applications, it has been observed that very simple chemical modifications of the CD core lead to very large improvements. A clear illustration is provided by mono-3,6-anhydro-βCD 1, mono-3,6-anhydro-heptakis-2-O-methyl-hexakis-6-O-methyl-βCD 2 and mono-3,6-anhydro-heptakis-2,3-O-methyl-hexakis-6-O-methyl-βCD 3.
