This study suggested the necessity and direction of university liberal arts education that can help individuals cope with new social changes beyond traditional educational goals. This study also discussed the importance of teaching social science knowledge that helps people realize social values in the era of convergence culture. University education is required for individuals to follow universal norms, especially in order for them to cope with rapid changes in social structures in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. The university liberal arts education system based on social science knowledge plays an important role in solving real social problems, inculcating right values into university students, and internalizing the core competencies for humans. Realizing the educational goals of university liberal arts based on ethics and technology, such as the cultivation of public wisdom and market skills, can improve the life quality of society members. In short, teaching liberal arts at universities based on social science will help people realize social values.
