Standards for drinking water quality and waterborne diseases

The standards of World Health Organization(WHO),European Economic Community(EC) and USA Environment Protection Agency(USEPA) in drinking water quality are introduced.It points out that the criteria of China in drinking water quality is different from those of WHO,CE and USEPA.The guidelines for microorganisms in drinking water quality are discussed and the measures of controlling the pathogenic organisms(Salmonella,Vibrio cholerae,Legionella,Polioviruses,Cryptosporidium,and Giardia)which causing waterborne diseases are pointed out.
