Glycidol modified polyepoxide-polyoxyalkylenepolyamine addition product

PURPOSE: To provide the subject addition product which can be used as an electrodeposition coating resin for a conductive base material of a metal or the like and is excellent in crater resistance and topcoat adhesion by adding a polyepoxide to a specific polyamine followed by reacting with glycidol. CONSTITUTION: An epoxide-amine addition product is prepared by reacting (A) a polyepoxide with a molecular weight of 340-5,000 of which the number of 1,2-epoxy functional group is preferably 1-2 (example; an epoxy novolak resin or the like) with (B) a polyoxyalkylenepolyamine shown by the formula (R is H or a 1-6C alkyl; (n) is 1-50), at, for example, at 50-180°C. The subject addition product is provided by reacting the epoxid-amine addition product with (C) glycidol by adding glycidol as much as preferably 0.2-3 equivalent per one equivalent of the addition product.
