Observation of relapsing Henoch- Schonlein purpura treated by combination of traditional Chinese medicine and laser acupoint radiation

Objective To observe the effect of relapsing Henoch- Schonlein purpura( HSP) treated by combination of traditional Chinese medicine and laser acupoint radiation. Methods 126 patients with relapsing Henoch- Schonlein purpura( HSP) were randomly divided into two groups. 63 cases in control group were treated by routine western medicine therapy. 63 patients in treatment group received combination of traditional Chinese medicine and laser acupoint radiation. After a month of treatment the effect in two groups were compared and skin purpura subsided time,the relief time of gastrointestinal symptoms,joint pain relief time,adverse reactions and recurrence were recorded. Results There was significant difference between two groups on the total effective rate( P 0. 05). The curative effect in treatment group was superior to that in control group. Skin purpura subsided time,the relief time of gastrointestinal symptoms and joint pain relief time in treatment group were ahead of that in the control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion Combination of traditional Chinese medicine and laser acupoint radiation on the treatment of relapsing HSP is more effective than that of conventional western medicine,safe and reliable,to prevent recurrence,reducing kidney damage,worthy of clinical application.
