Structure and spatial pattern dynamics of dominant populations in a natural forest of Manglietia yuyuanensis Law community

2001
Plots were set up in a natural forest of M yuyuanensis Law in Shaxian county, Fujian province and field data were obtained by using contiguous grid quadrat method The study on population structure and spatial distribution patterns of the dominant species shows that M yuyuanensis Law had a stable structure and belonged to a mature type of population structure The population structure of Castanopsis Lamontii and Choerospondias axillaries were all inverse pyramid types, with no seedlings, but the amount of large trees were more most, add up to 59 and 38 saplings per·hm\+2 Castanopsis fargesis had a large reserve of seedlings, amount to 69 seedlings per·hm\+2 , showing a pyramid shape of population structure The spatial distribution patterns of M yuyuanensis Law and Castanopsis Lamontii in community were all aggregated ,but the aggregation intensity of M yuyuanensis Law was larger Choerospondias axillaries showed an random distribution pattern and Castanopsis fargesis showed an uniform one
