Method of manufacturing the aluminum foil

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum foil whose electrical properties or mechanical properties can be improved, and regions different in surface roughness can be provided in optional shape, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The aluminum foil is provided with: a first region subjected to etching treatment and having a relatively reduced surface roughness; and a second region subjected to etching treatment and having a relatively large surface roughness. A partial region on the surface of the aluminum foil is brought into contact with an acidic first liquid comprising hydrogen fluoride, and thereafter, the surface of the aluminum foil at least comprising the part is brought into contact with an acidic second liquid comprising hydrochloric acid, so that the aluminum foil is subjected to etching treatment.
