eSIE.CAR: Lebenszyklusgestaltung für die Zukunft

Rail carriers increasingly consider life cycle costs rather than the acquisition price as a basis for rolling stock investment decisions. The eSIE.CAR project embarks the objective to implement the highly innovative Modular Hybrid Design for regional trains thus besides other targets to reduce life cycle costs. The present article describes results of the process design during the life cycle, especially for the important areas engineering, manufacturing and assembly as well as the operation and the resulting opportunity for a relative assessment of life cycle costs in comparison to other design concepts like the Aluminium Integral Design.
